Hong Kong’s Greater Eastern Europe Business Alliance to open office in Minsk

A forum titled “Nexus of Growth: Connecting GBA & EAEU’s Emerging Markets via Great Stone Industrial Park” was held in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (PRC) as part of a roadshow of the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

 

 

The event was organized by Belarus’ Consulate General in Hong Kong, the administration of the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone, China Merchants Group, and SINOMACH.

 

 

 

Opening remarks at the presentation of the park’s investment opportunities were delivered by Daria Bogdan, Acting Consul General of Belarus in Hong Kong; Nicholas Ho, representative of the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau of the Hong Kong government; Tatiana Kharlap, head of the administration of the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone; Zhang Yu, Director of the Operation Management Department at SINOMACH; and Wang Shiyun, Director of the Overseas/International Cooperation Department of China Merchants Group.

 

 

 

During the event, cooperation agreements were signed with the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Association, along with an agreement to establish a representative office in Belarus for the Greater Eastern Europe Business Alliance, an association of Hong Kong companies. Also signed was a residency agreement for a company planning to create a China-Belarus international center for comprehensive chronic disease prevention and treatment, as well as a protocol of intent from Ricomm, a manufacturer of electronic and mobile gadgets, to become a park resident.

 

 

 

Representatives of Great Stone and its shareholder companies provided detailed information about the legal framework and advantages of doing business in the park.

 

 

Approximately 200 representatives of small, medium, and large businesses from China (both the mainland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region), as well as chambers of commerce from China, Hong Kong, and the Philippines, took part in the forum. Participants had the opportunity to ask speakers questions directly.
