In Belarus, 37% of the areas designated for early spring crops have been sown, the press service of the Agriculture and Food Ministry told BelTA.
“According to operational data as of 30 March, early spring grains and leguminous crops (excluding corn, buckwheat, and millet) have been sown on an area of 204,000 hectares, which accounts for 37% of the total sowing area of 552,000 hectares,” the press service reported.
The regional breakdown is the following: Brest Oblast – 74,000 hectares (87% of planned areas); Grodno Oblast – 48,000 hectares (65%); Minsk Oblast – 30,000 hectares (41%); Gomel Oblast – 27,000 hectares (29%); Mogilev Oblast – 14,000 hectares (13%); Vitebsk Oblast – 11,000 hectares (9%).
Sowing of flax has begun in Brest Oblast, Gomel Oblast, Grodno Oblast, and Minsk Oblast. Work has been completed on 3,700 hectares, which is more than 7% of the 50,000-hectare plan.
Moisture closure has been carried out on 664,000 hectares, or 48% of the plan.
Mineral fertilizers (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) for the 2026 spring sowing have been procured in the amount of 638,000 tonnes of active ingredient, which is 76% of the plan. Organic fertilizers for spring sowing have been transported in the amount of 47 million tonnes, with 22 million tonnes applied to fields.
