Turchin to take part in Union State Council of Ministers meeting in Moscow

Belarus’ Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin will participate in the Belarus-Russia Union State Council of Ministers meeting in Moscow, BelTA learned from the government’s press service.

At this moment, the government delegation is heading to the House of the Government of the Russian Federation, where the meeting of the Union State Council of Ministers will take place.

It is expected that prior to the meeting, Aleksandr Turchin will hold a one-on-one discussion with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

As previously reported by the Standing Committee of the Union State, the agenda includes discussions on the main directions for implementing the provisions of the Treaty on the Creation of the Union State, as well as the results of trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Russia. Special attention will be paid to issues such as granting products of Belarusian and Russian manufacturers the status of Union State goods, and establishing a fundamentally new body: the Union State Committee on Standardization and Quality.

The meeting will focus on the launch of passenger rail services between the border regions of Belarus and Russia, the advancement of work on a strategy for creating a common information space, and the implementation of the Union State's migration policy concept.
