Gomselmash eyes new assembly facilities in China, CIS

Gomselmash Director General Vitaly Sheleg shared with journalists the prospects for creating new assembly plants to produce agro-industrial machinery, BelTA has learned.

He recalled that several assembly facilities already operate in Russia. In particular, he mentioned the joint venture in Kuban and Bryanskselmash. “This is our business unit that has been working for more than 10 years. In fact, it serves as a gateway to the Russian Federation,” he explained.

Looking ahead, Gomselmash is considering establishing another assembly plant and expanding its presence in a new region. “This issue is still under discussion. Taking into account that the next two years have been declared by the Industry Ministry as a period of industrial cooperation and integration with the People’s Republic of China, we also plan to open a joint production facility there. Last month, our technical specialists, under the guidance of the Ministry, held talks with Chinese partners. There is a prospect to enter the Chinese market with a specific segmental product range,” Vitaly Sheleg noted. He stressed that these are far from the company’s only plans. Work is also underway on the possible creation of a joint combine assembly plant in one of the post-Soviet republics.

The Gomselmash holding is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of agricultural machinery, recognized among the global leaders in combine harvesters and advanced farm equipment. Its product portfolio includes grain and forage harvesters, corn and potato harvesters, mowers, and a wide range of other agricultural machines. Gomselmash equipment is in operation across Russia, Kazakhstan, Argentina, Brazil, China, the Republic of Korea, and many other countries. The company supports its international presence through an extensive distribution network, joint ventures, and assembly facilities.
