How military expertise shapes final decisions of Belarusian People’s Congress

National security expert and official representative of the public association Belaya Rus Aleksandr Tishchenko said in a new episode of BelTA’s Nation Speaks project how the Presidium of the Belarusian People’s Congress integrates the opinions of military experts into final decisions.

“Previously, the Congress discussed how to survive, then - how to live, and now - how to live more prosperously. The evolution is evident. The seventh convocation of the Belarusian People’s Congress is convening for its second session. This indicates robust monitoring and a move toward future-oriented governance, and we feel confident in this context,” Aleksandr Tishchenko emphasized.

According to him, the Presidiums of the Congress naturally integrate feedback from military experts into final decisions on security. “The expert community acts as a catalyst: it identifies hidden problems, allows for an external perspective, and tests key aspects, from the social and economic development program to the National Security Concept, the Military Doctrine, and political matters. Experts take the temperature of external factors and internal processes, monitor various positions so that decisions become more qualitative, assess the situation more accurately, and solve tasks more effectively in the future,” he explained.
