Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin has traveled to the Russian Federation to observe the active phase of the joint strategic exercise of the armed forces of Belarus and Russia Zapad 2025 [West 2025], the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.
The visit takes place within the framework of military‑technical cooperation between Belarus and Russia and demonstrates both countries’ commitment to strengthening regional security, the ministry noted.
At one of the Russian training grounds, Viktor Khrenin will review the course of practical actions carried out by the joint forces, assess the level of personnel training, and examine the effectiveness of the weapons and military equipment being employed.
Particular attention will be given to the coordination of different branches of the armed forces and command structures under conditions as close as possible to combat.
