Belarus, Uzbekistan display national economic achievements in Vitebsk

Clothing, footwear, meat and dairy products, and other goods were presented at the exhibition of the national economic achievements of the regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan, held as part of the 3rd Belarus-Uzbekistan Women’s Business Forum in Vitebsk, BelTA has learned.

 

 

Leading enterprises of the two countries showcased their products at the presentation sites: footwear, clothes, textiles, dairy products, including cheese, various meat delicacies, confectionery products, bread, including the famous Vitebsk bread called Karavai Pridviniya that is used to welcome government delegations. The exhibition also allowed visitors to explore a wide selection of home appliances, motorcycles, bicycles, medical equipment, and jewelry items. 

 

 

 

 

Petrochemical enterprises and the Belarusian State Committee on Science and Technology (SCST) also had their sites there. According to SCST Deputy Chairwoman Tatiana Stolyarova, the exposition features 55 R&D products of organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Belarusian National Technical University, and the Science and Technology Park of the Belarusian National Technical University. They include low-lactose and lactose-free dairy products and a microbial drug for complex wastewater treatment for poultry farming enterprises.

 

 

 

 

Products of Uzbekistan’s enterprises were widely presented: fruits, berries, dried fruits, nuts, juice, pharmaceuticals, clothes and textiles, footwear, headwear, tableware, carpets and souvenirs with national symbols, home appliances. In addition, a tasting zone was set up for guests, offering them traditional Uzbek pilaf and flatbreads.

 

 

Attendees of the exhibition were introduced to a temporary exposition titled as Sons of Uzbekistan in the Battles for Belarus. It was assembled from funds of the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War History with the participation of the Vitebsk Oblast History Museum, the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex, the National Archive of Belarus, the Belarusian State Archive of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings, and the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. 

 

 

 

During the Great Patriotic War, over a thousand soldiers conscripted from Uzbekistan died in the territory of our country. Among 1,600 liberators of Belarus, who were awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union, there were 32 natives of Uzbekistan. The victory in that bloody war was the result of incredible efforts of representatives of 15 nationalities, and Belarus remembers it and passes on this memory to the younger generation.
