Belarus’ Consul General in Chongqing, China Dmitry Yemelyanov has paid a visit to Guang'an, Sichuan Province, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Chongqing.
The Belarusian diplomat took part in a joint meeting of the diplomatic corps accredited in the region with Guang'an Vice Mayor Zhao Tao. The Consul General drew attention to promising areas of cooperation between Belarus and the Chinese city in trade, economy and investment. Dmitry Yemelyanov also took part in the Guang'an Trade and Investment Exhibition, where possible areas of cooperation between the city and foreign partners were presented.
Guang'an is a city in the east of China's Sichuan Province. It is the birthplace of the famous Chinese statesman, politician and party leader Deng Xiaoping, who was born in Guang'an in 1904 and lived there until he was 15.
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China were established on 20 January 1992. All-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership relations have been established between the countries.
