A delegation of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus led by Chairman of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeyenko has come on an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt at the invitation of Speaker of the House of Representatives of Egypt Hanafy Ali Gebaly, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.
The Belarusian delegation was met by Chairman of the Industry Committee of the House of Representatives of Egypt Muhammad al-Sallab.
The main goal of the visit is to intensify inter-parliamentary contacts, trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Egypt.
The delegation includes members of the House of Representatives Sergei Rachkov and Yuri Panfilov, representatives of the Belarusian business community.
During the visit, Igor Sergeyenko will meet with Hanafy Ali Gebaly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El Khatib, President of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce Ahmed El Wakil, Deputy Speaker of the Arab Parliament Tareq Nusair (the Arab Parliament is the legislative body of the Arab League which unites 22 states).
The delegation will visit the company that imports machinery made by Minsk Automobile Plant and will sign bilateral documents on the deliveries of Belarusian products.
The visit will end with a round table meeting to discuss ways to ramp up Belarus-Egypt trade. Taking part in the meeting will be Egyptian parliamentarians who represent big business.
