Belarus offers Sverdlovsk Oblast to set up joint cluster to manufacture quarry vehicles

Belarus offers Russia's Sverdlovsk region to set up a joint cluster to manufacture quarry vehicles, Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich said as he met with the region’s Governor Yevgeny Kuivashev. Mikhail Myasnikovich said that the relations of Belarus and Sverdlovsk region could be more efficient:

«It is bad that we do not have systemic projects, and the work in the context of the trade and economic relations is limited to one-time contracts.
I suggest we set up the joint cluster to produce quarry vehicles. We manufacture dump trucks. You have the machine-building corporation Uralmash that produces powerful excavators. If we complement these two lineups with relevant special-purpose machines, we will be able to create and jointly sell powerful mining systems. Many of our partners, especially African nations and other countries with well-developed mining industries, are interested in comprehensive packages.
We could either sell these systems or provide outsourcing services to more actively explore the markets of those countries.»

When speaking about the main cooperation areas, the Sverdlovsk region Governor said that the region is eager to develop and strengthen its ties with Belarus. “The current situation in the international arena, and the Ukrainian crisis encourage us to develop cooperation and establish new ties between our enterprises,” Yevgeny Kuivashev said. For example, the Russian region is interested in agricultural cooperation and in supplies of Belarusian food products. “There are some things we should learn from Belarus. Taking into consideration the high quality of Belarusian products, we believe that we should strengthen our ties with your country. Among all other things we should increase the import of Belarus’ products,” the Sverdlovsk Oblast Governor noted. Sverdlovsk Oblast also seeks to develop bilateral cooperation with Belarus in other fields.
