Belarus, Saudi Arabia eye closer political cooperation

Belarusian First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lukashevich received copies of the credentials of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Saudi Arabia to Russia and concurrently to Belarus Sami Mohammed Alsadhan on 27 July, BelTA has learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties outlined priority steps to intensify Belarusian-Saudi relations in the near term. They reaffirmed their mutual interest in deepening political dialogue and strengthening the bilateral legal framework.

The sides emphasized the considerable potential for expanding cooperation in trade, economic, investment and humanitarian areas, paying particular attention to ways of enhancing contacts between the business communities of Belarus and Saudi Arabia.

Sergei Lukashevich wished the ambassador success in his diplomatic mission.
