A yearly seminar for the heads of Belarus’ diplomatic missions and consular offices began with a meeting at the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of Belarus in Minsk on 27 July, BelTA has learned.
“Every year we hold events of this kind with the heads of our foreign missions: ambassadors, consuls general, chargés d’affaires. The main task is to immerse our ambassadors, who spend most of their time abroad, in Belarusian affairs,” Belarusian Foreign Affairs Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov told journalists before the seminar.
According to him, the diplomats must have a very clear understanding of the country they represent abroad. “They must feel the rhythm of life in the state. In this regard, a large part of our seminar will be devoted to various issues of the country’s socio-economic development, the implementation of infrastructure projects, political events, and an overview of public life in our state,” Maxim Ryzhenkov said.
