Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko may attend a Board of Peace meeting in 2026, press secretary for the Belarusian head of state Natalya Eismont said when asked by the Russian TASS news agency, BelTA has learned.
“If the meeting takes place this year and it works for the Belarusian side, we will definitely be there,” she said.
As BelTA has reported, during the recent talks with a U.S. delegation led by special envoy John Coale, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko promised the Americans that he would attend the upcoming meeting of the Board of Peace.
“They insisted strongly that I come to the next Board of Peace meeting,” the head of state noted. “I promised that we would meet soon, when your event is held.”
