Two Belarusian athletes to compete at Milan Olympics on 12 February

Two Belarusian athletes will compete at the Winter Olympic Games in Italy on Thursday, 12 February, BelTA has learned.

The women's 10km freestyle individual race will begin in Tesero at 15.00pm Minsk time. A total of 111 athletes will take part in the competition. Belarusian Hanna Karaliova, who is assigned start number 53, will begin her race at 15.26. Earlier at the Games, the Belarusian placed 34th in the 10+10km skiathlon and 48th in the classical sprint. Today's event will be Karaliova's final race at the Milan Olympics.

The women's 5000m competition will begin at the Milan speed skating oval at 18.30. Belarusian Marina Zueva will race in the second out of six pairs, alongside Dutch skater Bente Kerkhoff. the Belarusian finished ninth at the only World Cup held in this discipline. Zueva began her 2026 Games campaign in the 3000m, where she rounded out the top 15.

The Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo have brought together 2,900 athletes from 94 countries. In the coming days, Belarusian Victoriia Safonova (figure skating), Maria Shkanova (alpine skiing), Hanna Huskova, Anna Derugo, and Anastasiya Andryianava (aerials) will compete in Italy. The Winter Olympic Games will conclude on 22 February.
