MFA: Belarus, Germany discuss prospects for relations in current conditions

On 23 October, Belarus’ Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Igor Sekreta held a meeting with Chargé d’Affaires of the Federal Republic of Germany in Belarus Katrin aus dem Siepen following the presentation of copies of her credentials, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Affairs Ministry told BelTA.

“The parties discussed the current state and prospects for Belarus-Germany relations amid existing framework conditions,” the press service noted.

The first official diplomatic contacts between the two countries took place in 1923. On 13 March 1992, an agreement to resume diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Federal Republic of Germany was signed in Minsk. Embassies have been opened in both countries.
