Belarus’ NOC head congratulates canoe sprint team on success in Milan

President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus Viktor Lukashenko has congratulated the national canoe sprint team on its successful performance at the 2025 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Milan, BelTA learned from the press service of Belarus’ NOC.
 
The team's tally stands at five medals: one gold, two silvers, and two bronzes. Volha Klimava won the champion title in the Women C1 5,000m. She, together with Anhelina Bardanouskaya, Viktoryia Nestsiarenka, and Lizaveta Prymak, placed second in the C4 500m event. Yuliya Trushkina and Inna Nedelkina took silver in the C2 200m.
 
“Five medals from the world sports forum are a deserved reward for perseverance, admirable skill, and the daily joint work of every athlete and coach. Our athletes have once again delighted fans in their native Belarus, demonstrating their highest level and proving that they occupy a worthy place among the world's leaders in this sport,” the NOC head remarked.
 
Bronze medals were collected by Ilya Verashchaka, Stanislau Savelyeu, Uladzislau Poleshko, and Danila Verashchaka (C4 500m), as well as Marharyta Tkachova, Uladzislava Skryhanava, Ina Sauchuk, and Nadzeya Kushner (K4 500m).
