Foreign diplomats visit Grodno Oblast

Heads of the foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Belarus together with their spouses visited the historical, cultural and tourist sites in Grodno Region, we learnt from the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

The visit took place at an invitation of Belarus’ Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei.

“The organization of such visits is a popular practice in the world. It allows foreign diplomats to get familiar with traditions, historical and cultural heritage, regional peculiarities, local colors and sights of the host country,” the press service of the Foreign Ministry noted.

The guests made a tour of Grodno and visited St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Sts. Boris and Gleb Church and the Grodno State Museum of the History of Religion. They also visited the Garadzensky Mayontak Karobchitsy agro-tourism complex.

The two-day program concluded with a visit to the Augustow Canal tourism and recreation park and a boat trip.
