Netherlands wins Eurovision 2019

The Netherlands' Duncan Laurence has won the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with his song Arcade, BelTA has learned.

Duncan Laurence is 25 years old; his real name is Duncan de Moor. His entry Arcade is a sentimental ballad based on the singer's own experience. 

Duncan Laurence had been heavily favored to win and came through to the top of the leaderboard with 492 points after the public vote. Italy's Mahmood came second with 465 points. Russia's Sergey Lazarev landed third with 369 points.

The Grand Final of the contest took place at Expo Tel Aviv on 18 May. Twenty-six countries competed for the glass microphone. Belarus' ZENA with her song Like It landed 25th.

Israel hosted the Eurovision Song Contest for the third time this year. The last two times were in 1979 and 1999. This year the contest was held under the motto Dare To Dream.
