CSTO foreign ministers discussed cooperation with UN in New York

       Foreign Minister of Belarus Vladimir Makei took part in the 67th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which was held in New York.
On the first day of the visit, 27 September, Vladimir Makei took part in the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states. The meeting of the CSTO foreign ministry chiefs is traditionally held on the sidelines of the General Debate of the UN General Assembly in New York. The foreign ministers coordinated their statements on the situation in Iran, Syria and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. The foreign ministers discussed the activities of the organization, ways to enhance its efficiency and strengthen the CSTO authority, cooperation between the CSTO and the United Nations.
      Vladimir Makei took part in the Sixth CTBT Ministerial Meeting and the meeting of foreign ministers of the Central European Initiative member states.
       The Foreign Minister of Belarus also met with foreign ministers of Australia, Algeria, Israel, Iraq, Iran, General Secretary of the Council of Europe Thorbjorn Jagland and Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Yury Fedotov.
