Anatoly Nichkasov: Serious economic progress for member states in the Eurasian Economic Union

The Eurasian Economic Union provides for serious economic progress for the Customs Union member states. The opinion was voiced by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kazakhstan Anatoly Nichkasov, BelTA has learned. The Ambassador took part in an annual seminar for heads of diplomatic missions and consular institutions in the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus in Minsk.

Anatoly Nichkasov said: “The agreement on setting up the Eurasian Economic Union has been signed. It allows reaching a new level of relations between Belarus, Russia, and Kazakhstan”. The Ambassador remarked that Kazakhstan is making serious preparations for working in conditions of the Eurasian Economic Union. A special development program is underway in the country to raise the competitive ability of the national economy. The program is designed to create new enterprises that may play an important role in the emergence of new products in the Customs Union. “It is what we have to bear in mind as we build the perspective in trade and economic cooperation,” believes the Ambassador of Belarus to Kazakhstan.

Anatoly Nichkasov added that Belarus-Kazakhstan trade has exceeded $1 billion, with Belarus enjoying a foreign trade surplus. Belarus’ export rose by $100 million in 2013 in comparison with 2012.
