Sergeyenko attends Myanmar president’s inauguration

Igor Sergeyenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, took part in the official inauguration ceremony of the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.
 
President-elect Min Aung Hlaing, in the presence of members of both houses of parliament (the Union Assembly), Supreme Court judges, other officials, and foreign guests, recited the oath of office, pledging to act in the interests of the people and uphold the country’s Constitution.
 
Min Aung Hlaing’s candidacy for the presidency was supported by the majority of parliamentarians in the Union Assembly on 3 April 2026.
 
Under Myanmar’s Constitution, the president is elected for a five-year term. Alongside Min Aung Hlaing, the First and Second Vice Presidents - Nyo Saw and Nan Ni Ni Aye - also took the oath.
 
As BelTA previously reported, Igor Sergeyenko is visiting the city of Naypyidaw on the instructions of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko.
