Belarus, China confirm interest in stepping up cooperation in all areas

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Aleksandr Chervyakov met with Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Liu Bin on 15 January, the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Beijing told BelTA.

The parties took stock of cooperation in 2025 and gave a high assessment of the momentum in Belarus-China relations. They noted the intensification of political dialogue, expanded coordination on international and regional platforms, and deeper interaction between foreign ministries and other institutions.

The parties reaffirmed mutual interest in further strengthening cooperation across all areas of bilateral engagement.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China were established in 1992. In September 2022, on the sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Organization events, the leaders of Belarus and China adopted a joint declaration establishing the highest level of relations in history: an all-weather and all-round strategic partnership. In March 2023, during the state visit of President Aleksandr Lukashenko of Belarus to China, the two countries’ leaders issued a joint statement outlining the main principles for developing exemplary all-weather and all-round strategic partnership relations in a new era.
