The final declaration of the Collective Security Council has been adopted at the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) summit in Bishkek on 27 November, BelTA has learned.
As CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov told reporters following the event, the heads of state have once again emphasized their commitment to the principles of the organization and their readiness to make every effort to strengthen collective security measures within the CSTO.
The heads of state discussed the military and political landscape in the CSTO area of responsibility and scenarios for its possible development. “It was noted that the current geopolitical transformation and changes in the international security system have a direct impact on the processes in the CSTO region. The member states are particularly concerned about modern challenges and threats, many of which are of a hybrid nature,” Imangali Tasmagambetov said.
Among the documents adopted at the CSTO summit, in addition to the final declaration, are decisions concerning the support of the organization’s current activities and the enhancement of cooperation in countering illicit drug trafficking and illegal migration.
