Russia’s Stavropol Territory keen to purchase Belarus' MAZ machinery

Stavropol Territory, Russia has shown interest in trolleybuses and electric buses produced by Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ), the company's press service told BelTA.
 
During negotiations with MAZ leadership, Minister of Road Management and Transport of Stavropol Territory Yevgeny Shtepa and Deputy Minister of Road Management and Transport Denis Yanakov expressed interest in autonomous trolleybuses and electric buses. The Russian side emphasized the environmental friendliness and high quality of MAZ vehicles.
 
The guests also visited the new bus production facility, main assembly line and the passenger electric transport assembly workshop in Zhodino.
 
MAZ is one of Belarus' largest mechanical engineering companies. It specializes in making heavy-duty trucks, special-purpose vehicles, buses, trolleybuses, and trailing units. The company makes a total of over 500 models and 3,000 modifications of tractor units, dropside trucks, chassis for mounting various kinds of equipment, about 15 models of buses, trolleybuses and electric buses.
