Year of 2012 hailed as major success for Belarus’ foreign trade

Belarus made impressive progress in expanding its foreign trade in 2012, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of Belarus Andrei Savinykh said.
In January-November 2012 Belarus posted the trade surplus of $3.1 billion. The export of goods and services in whole and the export of individual goods and services exceeded the yearly projections.
Andrei Savinykh emphasized that the export growth rate outpaced the import growth rate. Over 95% of exports are sold in the countries where Belarus has diplomatic missions:
"Belarus extended its reach into 15 new markets. The aggregate amount of supplies there made up $50 million. In 2012 Belarusian goods were shipped to the Bermudas, Guadeloupe, Djibouti, the Comoros, the Congo, Laos, Liberia, the Marshall Islands, the Isle of Man, the Cayman Islands, Paraguay, Sudan, Togo, Chad, and Montenegro."
