     Dinamo Minsk extended their losing streak in the 5th KHL Championship to four after giving up 1-2 in Riga. Minsk opened the score for the first time in its last eight encounters. Alexander Kulakov gave the lead to the guests with almost nine minutes into the game. The Belarusians, however, were unable to take the lead into the second. Alexandre Giroux got the goal back two minutes before the first break with a wrist shot from under Minsk defenseman Jere Karalahti. Pekka Rinne did not see the puck coming also because of his teammate Cory Murphy screening the view.
    The teams embarked on a long way of one goal decides everything. Neither team got on the board in the second and third periods, setting up a dramatic finish. It was Jamie Johnson to score the overtime winner to give host Dinamo Riga a 2-1 win. Ahead of the match the HC Dinamo Minsk announced the exchange of its defenseman Jonas Frogren for Atlant Moscow Region defenseman Janne Niskala.
