Authentic Italian pizza can be found in Minsk restaurants, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Belarus Stefano Bianchi told reporters.
“Some cafes and restaurants in Minsk serve authentic pizza. If you look, you will find it,” the diplomat said without giving the names of these places.
This year the famous Italian dish, Pizza Margherita, marks its 125th anniversary. “Pizza Margherita has become part of the global heritage, not only the Italian heritage,” the Italian Ambassador noted. Every year Italy hosts pizza making contests. “We could be happy to mark the birthdays of other dishes Italy is famous for, however, there are so many of them that we would probably sit at the table all the year round,” Stefano Bianchi said.
The diplomat took part in the tasting of several versions of the pizza cooked by an Italian chef. The event took place near Minsk in a roundtable format. Taking part in the event were journalists, food producers from Belarus, and Italian culinary experts Renato Cucinotta and Ignazio Rosa.
