Team Belarus got to group D featuring the teams of Czech Republic (the match will be held on the 15th of June), Croatia (on the 16th of June) and Lithuania (on the 17th of June).
The other groups at the Women’s Eurobasket 2013 look as follows:
Group A – Turkey, Slovakia, Montenegro, Ukraine;
Group B – Russia, Spain, Italy, Sweden;
Group C – France, Great Britain, Serbia, Latvia.
Three best teams from each of the four groups promote to the second stage of the competition featuring two groups of 6 teams. Four of them promote to the quarterfinals. The final match is scheduled for June, 30.
Let’s note that the Belarusian women’s basketball team participated in the European Championships three times. In 2007 they became bronze medalists. In 2009 they occupied 4th place and in 2011 team Belarus finished at the 9th position.
