Deputy PM notes rising interest in Belarus-Uzbekistan Forum of Regions

Interest in the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan is growing, Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev said at the plenary session of the 3rd Forum of Regions in Minsk on 8 July, BelTA has learned.

“Over the years, the forum has become much more than just an annual meeting. Every year, both business and government see that interest is growing, and most importantly, tangible steps are being taken. Today, it is one of the most effective platforms for our economic cooperation, where new projects are born, direct ties between regions are established, and the reached agreements translate into real investments and joint ventures,” Jamshid Khodjaev said.

The deputy prime minister emphasized that Belarus has always been one of Uzbekistan’s key strategic partners. Driven by the trust between the two countries’ leaders, cooperation is developing dynamically and becoming increasingly practical.

“By the end of 2025, bilateral trade increased by 25%, nearing $1 billion. Hundreds of joint ventures are operating successfully, with projects being implemented in manufacturing, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, textiles, and other areas,” Jamshid Khodjaev emphasized.
