PM: Belarus-Russia trade up by nearly 20% in January-May 2026

Belarus-Russia trade between increased by nearly 20% in January-May 2026, Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin said during the second round of talks with Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin on the sidelines of the INNOPROM international industrial exhibition in Yekaterinburg, BelTA has learned.


The heads of government continued discussing the current agenda of bilateral cooperation. Aleksandr Turchin emphasized that over the years INNOPROM has proven its importance for both countries. The forum offers an opportunity to assess industrial achievements and outline a further plan for interaction.

“Relations are demonstrating steady growth. Over the first five months, we have added more than 20% in mutual trade. This indicates that we are on the right track. Within the framework of the Union State, we are resolving a range of issues and solving the tasks in the context of the unprecedented sanctions pressure,” Aleksandr Turchin noted. “I am confident that the pace of our meetings and discussions will be maintained.”

According to the prime minister, the interaction between the governments is at the highest level. “I am grateful that you are available 24/7 and that any issues that arise are resolved promptly,” Aleksandr Turchin noted adding that solutions have already been found for a number of areas discussed yesterday.

Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin also met with First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov. The parties discussed industrial cooperation and import substitution. Aleksandr Turchin emphasized that a significant number of joint projects are being implemented in the two countries.
