MPs from Belarus’ Brest Oblast, China's Anhui Province sign MoC

The Brest Oblast Council of Deputies signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Standing Committee of the Anhui Provincial People's Congress on 10 December, BelTA learned from the Brest Oblast Executive Committee.

“The signing of the memorandum marks a new stage in our cooperation at the level of legislative bodies. This is meticulous and highly important work. It will enable us to further align our positions, including on the international stage and foster our friendly relations and economic ties,” stated Igor Brilevich, Chairman of the Brest Oblast Council of Deputies.

The delegation of Brest Oblast is on a visit to China on 6-11 December. The program includes meetings, negotiations, signing of contracts and agreements, and tour of leading enterprises.

“Today we met with the leadership of Anhui Province. The signing of the memorandum is another step toward the further development of our bilateral ties. Moreover, we are working on business projects, including the production of light-tonnage vehicles at Brestmash plant. On 9 December, we toured an enterprise that manufactures household appliances. There are agreements that we will implement in the near future,” said Mikhail Batsenko, Deputy Chairman of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee.

Brest Oblast has maintained sister-city relations with Anhui Province since 2017.
