State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich called upon the SCO member states to support the Belarus’ initiative to develop the Eurasian Charter of Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st century as he spoke at the multilateral Meeting of the SCO Security Council Secretaries held as part of the International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues in Moscow on 27-29 May, BelTA has learned.
“First of all, we are considering this document for the Eurasian region. Currently, the SCO countries are working on the provisions of the charter. Therefore, I would like to once again appeal to my colleagues from the SCO countries to support the development of this document. We are grateful to all partners for their constructive participation in this process,” Aleksandr Volfovich said.
The state secretary of the Security Council named the areas that Belarus considers relevant and promising for the formation of an equal and indivisible Eurasian security architecture. Among them are the development of a common vision within the SCO on artificial intelligence issues, expansion of cooperation between the SCO states in ensuring international information security, deepening joint work on multilateral platforms on disarmament and arms control, non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and peaceful use of atomic energy.
