A Belarusian delegation made up of representatives of the Foreign Ministry, the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and experts in climate and energy effectiveness took part in events held in Brussels to mark the beginning of the European Commission’s project Clima East.
Members of the Belarusian delegation met with delegations of the Eastern Partnership Initiative member states, representatives of the European Union, and the agencies involved in implementing the project to discuss results of the establishment phase and the project’s plan for the first year. The need to take national interests of the Eastern Partnership Initiative member states into account during the implementation of regional climate projects was underlined as well as the importance of working out indicators to assess the project’s implementation and clear methods to assess results of the project during and after the course of the project. The need to specify the suggested measures in detail was emphasized, said the source. Proposals of the Belarusian side met support among the delegations of the Eastern Partnership Initiative member states.
