Belarus, Poland sign plan of action for cooperation in forestry

A plan of action for cooperation in 2013-2015 was signed by Belarus’ Forestry Ministry and the General Directorate of State Forests of Poland. The document was signed during a visit of a delegation of the General Directorate of the State forests of Poland led by its head Adam Wasiak to Belarus.  The plan of action includes such areas as greater promotion of cooperation between foresters’ societies of Belarus and Poland, international interaction of forestry agencies of Belarus and Poland within the framework of the Pan-European Forest Process (Forests of Europe), and the activities conducted by the UN Forum on Forests, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, FAO. Another area of international cooperation is the exchange of delegations, new knowledge, technologies and best practices in the field of forest management, reproduction, protection of forests, biotechnology, multipurpose forest management, hunting, eco-tourism and recreational activities. The goal of the visit of the foresters from Poland to Belarus is to exchange experience in the field of forest management, forest protection, and identify new areas of cooperation.
