The Kontinental Hockey League selected top ten best saves of the first two weeks of January 2013, with Dinamo Minsk goalie Lars Haugen topping the list.
The experts praised the Norwegian goaltender’s performance on the 55th minute of the Dinamo Minsk’s road game (1-0 overtime win) against Atlant Moscow Region on 6 January.
Minsk penalty killers in almost two-minute 3-on-5 ice action allowed Atlant just one good opportunity in which the puck dropped behind the Minsk goaltender. Lars Haugen was there just in time to cover it up on the goal line.
In the game against Atlant the 25-year-old recorded his second shutout of the season. Lars Haugen won eight of his 12 matches, allowed 19 goals, going with 94.1 save percentage.
Top ten saves of the first two weeks of January: 1 Lars Haugen (Dinamo Minsk); 2 Ivan Lisutin (Chekhov Vityaz); 3 Aleksei Kuznetsov (Amur Khabarovsk); 4 Alexander Yeryomenko (Dynamo Moscow); 5 Rostislav Stana (CSKA Moscow); 6 Alexander Lazushin (Metallurg Novokuznetsk); 7 Ari Ahonen (Metallurg Magnitogorsk); 8 Sergei Bobrovsky (SKA St Petersburg); 9 Jaroslav Janus (Slovan Bratislava); 10 Andrei Vasilevsky (Salavat Yulaev Ufa).
