Minsk hosts Competizione dell'Opera

150 contestants are taking part in the International Competition of Italian opera singers Competizione dell'Opera - held at Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus in Minsk.
The contest was first held 16 years ago. Since 2001 it has been held in Dresden and only last year it started travelling. The semifinals and final were held in Moscow, and this year - in Minsk.
Competizione dell'Opera led by Professor Frey is one of the important cultural events of the world. This is, perhaps, the only singing competition, where a number of tasks are set before young singers. The repertoire is exclusively Italian.
Only 10 contestants will get to the final, which will take place on December 22 on the main stage of the Bolshoi Theater. They will also take part in the final gala concert of the 3rd International Christmas Opera Forum.
