Union State budget for 2013 passes second reading

*The Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia gave the second final reading to the Union State budget for the year 2013 at the session in Moscow.
The Union State budget provides for financing 37 programs and measures, including 11 programs and 26 measures, many of which are held annually.
Mr Sergei Naryshkin, Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly, Speaker of the State Duma of Russia, said that the next year’s Union State budget has vivid social aspects. At the same time the budget allocates considerable funds for the real economy sector. There are plans to finance three new programs in 2013. Two of the programs are related to the development of new R&D areas. Besides, the budget has appropriated money to finance two programs, which are nearly ready. Those are the development of space and ground-based systems to feed the Earth’s remote sensing information to consumers in Russia and Belarus and the innovation-driven development of the production of potatoes and artichoke.
The Union State budget will be submitted for approval of the Supreme State Council of the Union State.
