Belarus, Kazakhstan to step up manufacturing cooperation

        Belarus and Kazakhstan will step up trade and economic interaction in manufacturing cooperation, the processing of agricultural products, in mechanical engineering. The two countries will also put efforts into advancing scientific, technical, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation, the press service of the Belarus government said after the 11th session of the Belarus-Kazakhstan intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation.
       The session summed up results of trade and economic cooperation since October 2013, worked out measures to bolster cooperation and expand work in the future. Results of the first year of fulfilling the roadmap for bilateral trade and economic cooperation in 2014-2016 were summed up. A final protocol of intent that includes 13 items was signed. The sides will have to step up efforts to carry out the items the protocol mentions.
       As part of the session a business forum involving a large number of representatives of the business circles of Belarus and Kazakhstan took place. A memorandum of cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry of Gomel Oblast and Almaty Oblast was signed. An agreement on on-the-job training for Kazakh businessmen in Belarus was signed.
