Belarus’ foreign trade surplus at $425.7m in January-May

In January-May 2014 the surplus of Belarus’ foreign trade in goods and services totaled $425.7 million, we learned from the National Statistics Committee.

Belarus secured the surplus in foreign trade in goods and services thanks to the results in Q1 2014. In April and May Belarus posted the foreign trade deficit. Just to compare: in January-May 2013 the foreign trade surplus made up $21 million.

In January-May the deficit of foreign trade in goods made up $140.5 million. However, it was much smaller than the deficit shown in the same period of the year 2013 ($1.101,3 billion).

In January-May 2014 the surplus of Belarus’ foreign trade in services totaled $566.2 million.
