First Vice Premier of Belarus Vladimir Semashko and head of the Sverdlovsk Oblast Government Denis Pasler opened Belarus’ national expo at Innoprom 2014, the 5th edition of the international industrial exhibition in Yekaterinburg, we learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.
The expo is the largest in three years of Belarus’ participation in the Yekaterinburg forum: its total area is over 700 sq. m. Belarus showcases more than 100 new solutions in the field of resource- and energy-saving technologies, transport, machine-building, metallurgy, chemical, oil and petrochemical industry, new materials and nanotechnology, medicine, engineering and other industries. In addition to the traditional showpieces Belarus has brought a unique heavy truck – a 450-tonne BelAZ.
“We thank the Belarusian partners for their interest in Sverdlovsk Oblast, for the largest expo which they have presented at Innoprom,” Denis Pasler said at the opening ceremony. “Continued effective cooperation with the Government of Belarus gives great results. Today, we see the new horizons of our cooperation: this is the possibility of creating joint ventures in Belarus with participation of Sverdlovsk business and in Sverdlovsk Oblast with participation of Belarusian business, primarily in engineering and machine tool building. We have embarked on the import substitution policies outlined by our leaders,” Denis Pasler noted.
