Le Bélarus a célébré la Journée de l'unité nationale. Ce symbole profond rappelle aux citoyens leurs racines, leur histoire et leur avenir communs. Pour marquer l'occasion, un grand débat sur l'unité a eu lieu au Palais de l'Indépendance. Le Président biélorusse a rencontré des leaders idéologiques, des historiens et des experts pour discuter du passé, du présent et de l'avenir du pays. Selon Alexandre Loukachenko, il est nécessaire d'élaborer une stratégie unifiée pour promouvoir la mémoire historique auprès des universitaires, des enseignants, des journalistes et des experts. Une attention accrue doit être accordée à la campagne de l'Armée rouge. « Nous devons rompre le silence sur les graves traces laissées par la domination polonaise sur les terres arrachées à notre République soviétique, a insisté Alexandre Loukachenko. Notre peuple doit savoir que les Biélorusses ont été spoliés alors que la Pologne ethnique prospérait, que nos ressources étaient exportées et que les paysans, qui travaillaient pour quelques sous, vivaient dans la pauvreté et sous la menace du fouet. Et ce fouet s'abattait sur tous ceux qui tentaient de lutter pour leur foi, leur langue et leur culture. Alexandre Loukachenko est convaincu qu'il est également nécessaire de parler de la façon dont les habitants du Bélarus occidental ont été privés du droit d'étudier dans leur langue maternelle, des églises orthodoxes ont été fermées et des élites nationales et des prêtres ont été persécutés. « Nous devons tous nous rappeler que les prisons polonaises regorgeaient de patriotes biélorusses, que la nation a été détruite spirituellement et physiquement, de la manière la plus brutale, » a souligné le chef d’État.

I recently learned my surname is not Polish, but Belarusian. I heard you on shortwave in the past and am so happy to listen online in English.
