Estados Unidos, la Unión Europea y la OTAN utilizan diversos instrumentos de confrontación contra Belarús y Rusia para mantener su hegemonía, declaró Joao Pimenta Lopes, diputado de Portugal del Parlamento Europeo, durante una reunión en línea con el diputado de la Cámara de Representantes, Serguéi Klishévich, informa BelTA.
“Ayer se celebró un debate público en el espacio del Festival ¡Avante! Expresamos públicamente nuestras posiciones sobre las sanciones contra Belarús. También estuvieron allí los representantes de la prensa. Belarús es muy importante para nosotros. Seguiremos actuando en el marco del Parlamento portugués y del Parlamento Europeo contra las sanciones, ya que la política de sanciones perjudica incluso nuestra economía y nuestra sociedad. Como saben, la situación social en nuestro país es muy difícil. Y seguiremos luchando contra las sanciones”, contó Joao Pimenta Lopes.
El eurodiputado portugués también se refirió al conflicto en Ucrania. “Creemos que es necesario buscar una solución al conflicto a través del diálogo. También creemos que Estados Unidos, la UE y la OTAN no están interesados en la paz. Utilizan diversos instrumentos de confrontación contra Belarús y Rusia, y también contra China, para preservar su hegemonía. Sin embargo, creemos que es necesario proteger la paz y abstenerse de los pasos que agraven el conflicto. También apreciamos la posición del Presidente de Belarús, Aleksandr Lukashenko, en relación con varias provocaciones de Polonia realizadas últimamente. Incluso en esta situación, su Presidente se esfuerza por buscar la paz”, señaló.
En las condiciones de constante presión ejercida por el Occidente colectivo sobre Belarús, el desarrollo del diálogo entre partidos con las fuerzas políticas europeas a base de creencias y valores ideológicos comunes tiene una importancia estratégica. En la actualidad, en los países occidentales existen suficientes organizaciones y movimientos sociopolíticos que no apoyan la política de sanciones contra Belarús y abogan por el diálogo y el desarrollo de relaciones de buena vecindad con el país belaruso. Dichos movimientos cuentan con el apoyo de cierta parte de su sociedad, que se manifiesta en la confianza depositada en ellos para representar los intereses de sus pueblos en los parlamentos nacionales y en el Parlamento Europeo, así como en la administración de varias ciudades y regiones de los estados europeos. Una de estas fuerzas sociales y políticas es el Partido Comunista Portugués, que cuenta con más de 50 000 afiliados, representantes en el Parlamento Nacional de Portugal (Asamblea de la República) y en el Parlamento Europeo. Los representantes del partido dirigen 19 distritos municipales de Portugal.
En la reunión se debatió la cooperación interparlamentaria entre ambos países, así como las cuestiones relativas a contrarrestar los continuos intentos de presionar a Belarús por parte del Occidente colectivo.
