В Беларуси честно берегут историческую память, заявил немецкий журналист Кен Йебсен. Выступая на митинге в Берлине, он рассказал о поездке в Беларусь и посещении Хатыни, сообщает БЕЛТА.
"Недавно я прилетел из Минска. Я был там как свободный журналист, поскольку привык всегда составлять собственное мнение о том, что вижу, - рассказал Кен Йебсен. - Почему я поехал Беларусь? Мне было важно понять, что такого знает Беларусь, чего не знаем мы? Теперь у меня есть ответ на этот вопрос. Беларусь очень хорошо помнит, что такое война. В этой стране на протяжении всего времени честно берегут историческую память".
Журналист вспомнил, какие впечатления у него оставило посещение Хатыни. "Хатынь стала символом всех деревень, сожженных фашистами в годы войны. Людей загоняли в сараи и сжигали заживо. Того, кто пытался спастись, расстреливали из пулеметов или огнеметов. Фашисты уничтожили тогда треть населения страны. Не щадили ни женщин, ни детей, ни младенцев, ни беременных, ни стариков. Это было массовое уничтожение людей, - подчеркнул он. - В этом году исполнилось 80 лет со дня этого преступления против белорусского народа. К мемориалу в Хатыни приезжали дипломаты и журналисты со всего мира. Десятки тысяч белорусов несли цветы. Но вот кого там не было, так это ни одного представителя немецких СМИ. Не было ни одного представителя германского правительства. Там не было никого из них!"
Немецкая делегация в эти дни находилась в Беларуси, посещала Хатынь и другие памятные места. "В Хатыни мы смогли возложить цветы к памятнику. Но что мне не удалось сделать, так это открыто рассказать, как Запад сегодня обращается со своей историей. В Германии сносят памятники тем, кто в рядах Красной армии освобождал нашу страну от нацизма. Уничтожается все, что так или иначе напоминает о России или имеет в своем названии русские корни. На очередную годовщину освобождения Освенцима организаторы не пригласили никого из страны, освободившей концлагерь от нацистов. Это вопиющий случай, не поддающийся моему пониманию", - подчеркнул Кен Йебсен.

I recently learned my surname is not Polish, but Belarusian. I heard you on shortwave in the past and am so happy to listen online in English. We hear nothing about Belarus here in the US so I am so glad to learn about your country. Keep on broadcasting in English. I also joined the Hoererklub on Facebook as I can understand German.
