26 ноября ушел из жизни министр иностранных дел Беларуси Владимир Макей.
Владимир Владимирович Макей родился в 1958 году в Гродненской области.
В 1980 году окончил Минский государственный педагогический институт иностранных языков, в 1993 году - Дипломатическую академию МИД Австрии.
В 1980-1993 годах служил в Вооруженных Силах СССР, Беларуси. Был полковником запаса. В 1993-1995 годах - третий секретарь управления информации и гуманитарного сотрудничества, второй секретарь отдела анализа и прогнозирования, второй секретарь секретариата министра МИД Беларуси. В 1995-1996 годах - заместитель начальника службы государственного протокола МИД. В 1996-1999 годах - представитель Республики Беларусь при Совете Европы, советник посольства Беларуси во Франции. В 1999-2000 годах - начальник управления общеевропейского сотрудничества МИД Беларуси. В 2000-2008 годах - помощник Президента Беларуси. В 2008-2012 годах - глава Администрации Президента Беларуси.
C 22 августа 2012 года Владимир Макей занимал пост министра иностранных дел Беларуси. Имел дипломатический ранг Чрезвычайного и Полномочного посла.

Ушел из жизни Владимир Владимирович Макей. Глава нашей дипломатической семьи.
Это та ситуация, когда даже нам – дипломатам – сложно описать словами потрясение и скорбь, которую все мы испытываем.
Весь свой жизненный путь Владимир Макей посвятил служению Беларуси. Подлинный патриот, виртуозный дипломат, выдающийся государственный деятель, искренне переживавший и неустанно работавший на благополучие и будущее нашей страны.
Многие в Беларуси и за рубежом считают, что он был рожден для этой службы на данном историческом этапе. Таким было сочетание неравнодушия, остроты мышления и дальновидности, мудрости, строгости и человечности одновременно.
Он не любил высокопарных фраз и никогда не согласовал бы такие оценки. Но это без преувеличения был великий Человек. Яркая масштабная личность, ставшая значимой частью не только белорусской, но и общемировой дипломатической истории. Авторитет и искреннее уважение со стороны многих зарубежных коллег, как друзей, так и оппонентов Беларуси, говорят сами за себя.
Уверены, что его вклад в укрепление и становление государственности нашей страны, обеспечение мира по достоинству еще будет оценен потомками.
При всем этом он был заботливым отцом, мужем, другом, творческим, искренним, отзывчивым, принципиальным и порядочным человеком с тонким чувством юмора, общение с которым никого не оставляло равнодушным.
Возможно, даже он сам не осознавал, что во многом был и будет оставаться примером для руководства, коллектива МИД и загранучреждений, многих ветеранов белорусской дипломатической службы. Эта утрата невосполнима. Министр Владимир Макей навсегда останется в наших сердцах.
Скорбим вместе с семьей, родными и близкими Владимира Владимировича.
Церемония прощания с Министром иностранных дел Беларуси Владимиром Макеем
состоится во вторник 29 ноября 2022 г. в столичном Доме офицеров.
Начало запланировано на 10.00.

I recently learned my surname is not Polish, but Belarusian. I heard you on shortwave in the past and am so happy to listen online in English. We hear nothing about Belarus here in the US so I am so glad to learn about your country. Keep on broadcasting in English. I also joined the Hoererklub on Facebook as I can understand German.
