Los temas de cooperación en el campo de la protección del medioambiente fueron discutidos en el Ministerio de Recursos Naturales y Protección del Medio Ambiente con las Naciones Unidas y el Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD), comentaron a BelTA en el servicio de prensa del ente.
El ministro de Recursos Naturales y Protección del Medio Ambiente, Andréi Judyk, se reunió con la coordinadora permanente de la ONU en Belarús, Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecka, y la representante permanente del PNUD en Belarús, Aleksandra Soloviova. Durante las conversaciones se discutieron los temas de cooperación entre el Ministerio de Recursos Naturales y Protección del Medio Ambiente y la ONU y el PNUD en el campo de la protección ambiental, la mitigación del cambio climático, así como la implementación junto con el PNUD de proyectos de asistencia técnica internacional encaminados a cumplir con las tareas ambientales.
Como informaron en el servicio de prensa, Andréi Judyk resaltó que las sanciones unilaterales contra Belarús impuestas por varios estados en violación de la Carta de la ONU impiden la solución de los problemas ambientales. Según él, esto podrá afectar al estado de los ecosistemas de toda la región europea. Como ejemplo, el ministro citó la situación de no suministro de datos meteorológicos por parte de varias organizaciones europeas e internacionales. Esta información se utiliza para predecir fenómenos peligrosos, garantizar la seguridad de los vuelos de la aviación civil y mejorar la precisión de los pronósticos. Los participantes de las negociaciones hablaron de la materialización de proyectos de asistencia técnica internacional encaminados a preservar la diversidad biológica y del paisaje, la eliminación segura de residuos peligrosos, el desarrollo del ecoturismo y la educación ambiental.
“El ministro fijó los problemas causados por las dificultades con la obtención del financiamiento para proyectos ambientales en el marco del séptimo ciclo operativo completado del Fondo para el Medio Ambiente Mundial y propuso trabajar en la posibilidad de asignar subvenciones para la realización de nuevos proyectos ambientales. También durante la reunión se prestó la atención especial a las consecuencias negativas de la construcción de un cercado en el territorio del objeto del Patrimonio Mundial de la Unesco – Belovézhskaya Puscha. Andréi Judyk subrayó que en este momento somos testigos de un daño global irreparable al ecosistema internacional. A este respecto, se centró en la necesidad de una evaluación inmediata por parte de la comunidad internacional de la situación en Belovézhskaya Puscha”, contaron en el ministerio belaruso.
Los participantes de la entrevista acordaron crear un grupo de expertos conjunto para promover este tema en las plataformas internacionales.
