年轻有成就的新一代们聚集在独立宫参加新年舞会。
来自白俄罗斯各地的 337 名男孩和女孩参加了庆祝活动。对他们来说，参加舞会的入场券是他们在学习、创造力、运动和社会生活中取得的个人成功。嘉宾中有总统特长生专项基金的奖学金获得者，各种比赛、奥林匹克竞赛的获奖者和会议参与者、志愿者和学生运动员的代表、选美比赛的获奖者、体育比赛的获胜者。
按照舞会的传统，嘉宾们也应邀出席这次活动。参加庆祝活动的有：白俄罗斯总统亚历山大·卢卡申科、白俄罗斯安理会秘书亚历山大·沃尔福维奇、总统办公厅副主任伊戈尔·卢茨基、文化部部长阿纳托利·马尔科维奇、副总理伊戈尔·彼得里申科、明斯克市执行委员会主席弗拉基米尔·库哈列夫，国民议会共和国院成员德米特里·巴斯科夫，国民议会议员玛丽亚·瓦西列维奇。
18至19世纪的文化形式成为了今年新年舞会的“文化代码”。位于什克洛夫的佐里奇伯爵和戈梅利的鲁缅采夫伯爵宫中的舞会是白俄罗斯历史上最具代表的传统风格。
穿着蓬松雪白落地连衣裙的女孩们和穿着燕尾服和军装的年轻人们聚集在舞会大厅，带着兴奋和激动的心情，表演了她们的第一支圆舞曲——隆重的波洛涅兹舞，拉开了舞会的帷幕。
首次亮相穿着白色裙子的女舞者很容易被认出：她们都是年轻的未婚女子。其他女士都穿着米色、桃色、奶油色和金色色调的连衣裙。男士们穿着传统的燕尾服。
白俄罗斯总统亚历山大·卢卡申科热情迎接了舞会的参加者和嘉宾们。
白俄罗斯领导人说：“我们连续第四年在独立宫举行期待已久的节日盛会，复兴历史传统（我强调：我们的历史传统），塑造我们年轻国家的现代面貌。”
总统指出，白俄罗斯是一个宫殿和城堡的国家，在这里举行了维也纳、波兰和俄罗斯的舞会。国家元首强调： “在那个时代，这些舞会是由当地贵族的代表们举办的。举办最美丽的传统舞会只有在我们的国家保留下来了-即白俄罗斯传统，”
