Präsidenten von Belarus und Venezuela, Alexander Lukaschenko und Nicolas Maduro, bestätigten gegenseitig ihre Bereitschaft zur weiteren Umsetzung von Kooperationsplänen. Darum ging es beim Treffen beider Staatschefs in Minsk. „Für uns bedeutet die aktuelle Reise von Nicolas Maduro nach Belarus den weiteren Wunsch unserer venezolanischen Freunde zur strategischen Partnerschaft mit Belarus. Wir sind auch bereit zur Umsetzung von allen Kooperationsplänen mit Venezuela, die auch noch früher abgestimmt wurden“, sagte Alexander Lukaschenko. „Nicolas Maduro als Chavez' rechte Hand ist gut vertraut mit allen Problemen der belarussisch-venezolanischen Beziehungen“, sagte der belarussische Staatschef.
„Nicolas Maduro, der derzeit die Amtsgeschäfte in Venezuela führt, stellte sich zur Aufgabe wirtschaftliche Diversifizierung und Modernisierung im Land. Belarus kann dabei behilflich sein und seinen Beitrag zu diesem historischen Prozess leisten“, unterstrich der Präsident. Belarus sieht Venezuela als Stützbasis für den Kooperationsausbau mit der lateinamerikanischen Region an. „Dies haben wir noch mit Hugo Chavez beschlossen. Und mich freut auch die Stimmung des neuen Präsidenten Venezuelas, der offensichtlich den eingeschlagenen Weg vorwärts geht. Uns interessiert die wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit mit unseren Partnern in Venezuela sowie Handelskooperation mit ganz Lateinamerika“, so der belarussische Staatschef. Nicolas Maduro bekundete auch seine Absicht zur weiteren aktiven Zusammenarbeit mit Belarus. "Venezuelas verstorbener Präsident Hugo Chavez setzte viel auf gute Beziehungen mit Belarus und initiierte oft selbst verschiedene Ideen diesbezüglich. Nun steigen wir in eine neue Phase ein, Belarus kann aber nach wie vor mit unserer Unterstützung rechen“, sagte der venezolanische Staatschef.

I recently learned my surname is not Polish, but Belarusian. I heard you on shortwave in the past and am so happy to listen online in English.
