Volfovich describes pace of Belarus’ Armed Forces inspection

State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich told the media that the inspection of the Armed Forces of Belarus, ordered by the president, is proceeding with high intensity, BelTA has learned.

 
“The units of military formations that were raised to various levels of combat readiness yesterday are being tested today. Yesterday was a very intensive day involving the delivery of orders to a number of brigades in various regions of our country, and the study of the tasks set by the president for the units under inspection. Following this, reviews were conducted of units with short readiness timelines, meaning units that receive their task and within hours begin to perform their designated missions, occupying their assigned positions. The units also conducted marches of varying lengths - from 100 km to over 350 km - lasting practically the entire night, and arrived at the designated areas. The marches were carried out in an organized manner,” Aleksandr Volfovich said.He pointed out that readiness inspections are taking place today in units with somewhat longer readiness timelines. “For example, a readiness inspection of a tank battalion is being conducted in the 120th Separate Guards Mechanized Brigade. Over the course of today, the units that marched to and occupied their assigned assembly areas are now handling tasks such as establishing security perimeters, billeting personnel, and preparing equipment and weapons for subsequent operations. Therefore, the day is equally demanding. The entire inspection process is highly intensive. Well, that’s alright. That is what military personnel are for. Talking with the personnel, I see they genuinely have the desire to show excellent results. This is gratifying, it fosters positive thoughts, and we see we can rely on our military personnel. The people of Belarus can be confident that our Armed Forces are capable of fulfilling the tasks set before them,” the state secretary of the Security Council said. 
 
Aleksandr Volfovich emphasized that the president is following this inspection very closely. “Last evening, a report was made to the president on how the first day of the main inspection phase went, which issues were examined, what succeeded, and what did not. Practically every day, the head of state receives a report on the outcomes of that day regarding how the inspection measures are proceeding and how the plan for the snap inspection, which he personally approved, is being executed,” said the state secretary.
He added that the country’s leadership is observing the unfriendly actions of its western neighbors. “We see them, monitor them, and are taking appropriate measures, both diplomatic in nature and measures related to deterrence. Combat training, the snap inspection - this is also a complex of deterrence measures, showing that we are ready to defend our Homeland if necessary,” Aleksandr Volfovich emphasized.
 
The large-scale inspection of the Armed Forces on the order of the head of state began on 16 January. Aleksandr Lukashenko is personally overseeing its progress. A new system has been developed whereby the president, bypassing the Defense Ministry and the General Staff, places military units on combat alert. The primary goal of such an inspection is to see the objective picture. This is precisely why the checks are conducted without warning.

On this day, which is dedicated to inner and outer well-being of human body, people across the world practice yoga in groups. The International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga, a physical, mental and spiritual practice.
