Eurasian Security Conference in Minsk to draw over 40 countries, 7 organizations

The 3rd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security will take place on 28-29 October, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The event is held under the auspices of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The conference has established itself as a prominent international platform for discussing pressing issues of regional and global stability.

The conference will be attended by delegations from over 40 states and seven international organizations. Among the participants are ministers of foreign affairs, heads of integration associations, and representatives of parliaments, research institutes, and think tanks from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

Among the participants are Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary; Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation; Choe Son Hui, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea; Than Swe, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar; Sun Linjiang, Special Representative of the Government of the People's Republic of China on Eurasian Affairs; Imangali Tasmagambetov, Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization; Nurlan Yermekbayev, Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization; Kairat Sarybay, Secretary-General of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia; and Sergey Glazyev, State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State. Also participating are deputy ministers of foreign affairs of Iran, India, Cambodia, Oman, the UAE, and Tajikistan, along with the director of the center for foreign policy research and international initiatives under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

The expert community will also be actively involved, with over two 200 analysts, military specialists, and researchers from leading academic centers in Belarus, Austria, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Vietnam, the UK, Kazakhstan, China, India, Russia, Italy, Spain, Serbia, the USA, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, Uzbekistan, and a number of other countries. Among them are retired Major General (Retired) Rajendra Singh Yadav of India; Alexey Shevtsov, Deputy Secretary of the Russian Federation Security Council; Alexandra Matas, Director of the International Security Dialogue Department at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy; Austrian political analyst Dieter Reinisch; Glenn Diesen, Professor at the University of South-Eastern Norway; and others.

The main theme of the conference is Global (Dis)Order and the Eurasian Security Puzzle. The discussions will focus on analyzing key trends in international relations and developing approaches for establishing a new security architecture based on the principles of equality, indivisibility, and mutual respect.

Particular attention will be paid to the dialogue between East and West, strengthening confidence-building measures, and preventing confrontation.

Belarus consistently advocates for the development of a neutral, inclusive platform where representatives of various states and political schools of thought can openly exchange views without pressure or preconceived judgments. The goal of the conference is not to achieve consensus at any cost, but to create a space where one can be heard - something that is of particular value in the current context of growing international turbulence.

The conference agenda includes a high-level plenary session, thematic panels, and expert side-events dedicated to issues of strategic stability, arms control, regional cooperation, information and economic security, and migration.

The Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security is demonstrating sustained positive momentum. Each year, the range of participants expands, the role of the expert dimension is strengthened, and interest from international organizations and research institutions grows.

The forum is becoming an authoritative venue for direct and professional exchange of views between East and West, contributing to the enhancement of trust, security, and stability in Eurasia and beyond.

I recently learned my surname is not Polish, but Belarusian. I heard you on shortwave in the past and am so happy to listen online in English. We hear nothing about Belarus here in the US so I am so glad to learn about your country. Keep on broadcasting in English. I also joined the Hoererklub on Facebook as I can understand German. If you have information or a station pennant, I will very much appreciate it.
