Belarusian delegation visits Bashkortostan

A Belarusian delegation led by Belarus’ Ambassador to Russia Yuri Seliverstov visited the Republic of Bashkortostan on 4-5 May. The delegation held talks with Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov and visited a number of sites, the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia told BelTA.

Yuri Seliverstov visited the production site of the Ufa Tram and Trolleybus Plant (UTTZ). The company designs, produces, modernizes, and repairs rolling stock for urban electric transport (trams, trolleybuses, electric buses) and supplies various industrial equipment and components. “The UTTZ is one of the brightest examples of union industrial cooperation. Since 2020, Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) has been its strategic partner. More than 750 vehicle kits have been delivered, including 56 this year. Trolleybuses assembled in Ufa from Belarusian kits account for 40% of the Russian market for new trolleybuses,” the diplomatic mission said.

Together with the UTTZ Director General Denis Rassadnikov, the ambassador discussed logistics, the volume and range of vehicle kit supplies, the use of export support mechanisms, the state of the public transport market in Russian regions, current and upcoming tenders, and the deepening of localisation and industrial cooperation. Special attention was paid to the implementation of the joint project Territory of Development of Electric Transport MAZ-UTTZ to build a trolleybus plant in the Alga special economic zone in Bashkortostan.

The ambassador also visited the largest Ufa shopping mall Mega, which features the Belarusian stores Da domu and Komintern. “The stores are actively developing mono-brand and multi-brand formats for Belarusian light industry products on the Bashkortostan market. They flexibly adapt to consumer needs, enjoy well-deserved popularity, and are expecting deliveries of summer collections. The ambassador talked with the management and staff about product range and delivery logistics from Belarus, the unique features of the Bashkortostan market, how profitable the outlets are, and how they coordinate with their head offices,” the press service noted.

As previously reported, during talks with Bashkortostan head Radiy Khabirov, the ambassador discussed the progress of joint projects, opportunities to deepen industrial cooperation, and increasing supplies of Belarusian agricultural and municipal equipment.

“The parties expressed satisfaction with the current level of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, agreed to increase exchange events in tourism, and welcomed the resumption of direct Belavia flights between Minsk and Ufa. They also praised the growth of the bison population in Bashkortostan’s Muradymovskoye Gorge, another group of these Red Book animals recently arrived there from Belovezhskaya Pushcha,” the embassy added.

21st June was fifth International Yoga Day observed across the world. The theme for Yoga Day 2019 was "Yoga for Climate Action”. On this day, which is dedicated to inner and outer well-being of human body, people across the world practice yoga in groups. The International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga, a physical, mental and spiritual practice.
